We are told specifically in 2nd Corinthians 9 : 7 "Every man as he purposed in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver" Giving to the things of God expresses our worship in a tangible way by putting God first and allowing us to be a part of the most important work in life, that is spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.
